Travis Kelce’s dad, Ed, is one of Taylor Swift’s biggest fans.
While speaking about Swift one day before the Super Bowl, Ed said he loves how down-to-earth the super famous singer is at Kansas City Chiefs football games.
“Every game there’s people crowding outside the front of that suite trying to get a glimpse of Taylor, wanting to meet Taylor,” Ed told the Los Angeles Times on Saturday.
“Taylor’s very gracious, but she can’t do everything.”
“And she’s got security guys who don’t want her doing anything. That’s their job and she’s smart enough to know, ‘I’m paying these guys to keep me safe. I should probably listen to them,’” he explained of the “Cruel Summer” singer.
“But if it was up to her she’d be out there with everyone who wants her.”
Swift has been dating Ed’s youngest son, Travis, since July 2023.
After seeing each other privately for several weeks, they went public with their romance when the 14-time Grammy winner attended Travis’ Chiefs game for the first time that September.
Since then, she’s gone to 11 more of Travis’ games. The Super Bowl, which she’s expected to attend, will be lucky No. 13 for the singer.
During the games, Swift is often seen in a VIP suite having fun with Travis’ parents, Ed and Donna Kelce.
The “Bad Blood” singer first met Ed, who shares eldest son Jason Kelce with ex-wife Donna, ahead of a Chiefs game last fall, and he didn’t quite recognize her.

“Taylor walks [into Travis’ house] with a security guy, and I look at her, and I say [to my girlfriend], ‘Oh my God, I know this kid, but I don’t know what her name is. Jeez, you know, like a real idiot,’” Ed recalled during a January appearance on Audacy’s 92.3 The Fan radio show in Cleveland.
“And [my girlfriend] says, ‘You don’t know her? This is Taylor Swift, you idiot.’”
Since then, Ed and Swift have gotten to know each other pretty well — she even calls him “dad” now. She’s a “smart, grounded and a shrewd businesswoman,” he told the LA Times.
Ed further said he recently watched the commencement address Swift gave during New York University’s 2022 graduation ceremony and he was impressed.
“Listening to that, you get a much better sense of who this young woman is, as opposed to the social media blurbs and the gossip,” he said. “That’s all celebrity stuff. This is more the real Taylor.”
Ed, Donna, Jason, 36, and Jason’s wife, Kylie Kelce, are all expected to cheer on Travis and the Chiefs later today when they take on the San Fransisco 49ers in the Super Bowl at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium.
Swift’s parents, Scott and Andrea Swift, and her brother, Austin Swift, are also expected to attend the big game.
