Nick Carter says he’s ‘completely heartbroken’ over sister Bobbie Jean’s death in emotional tribute

Nick Carter is mourning the loss of his sister Bobbie Jean Carter a year after their brother Aaron Carter died.

“It may take a lifetime to fully process the loss my family has endured over the years – most recently, with the sudden passing of our sister Bobbie Jean,” he wrote on Instagram Thursday alongside a throwback picture of him and Bobbie Jean playing outside as kids.

“I am completely heartbroken. Thank you for all your love and kind words,” he added.

“We are reminded again that life is precious, fleeting and to cherish the time we have with the ones we love. I know she is finally at peace with God. I love you BJ.”

Nick, Aaron and Bobbie Jean’s mom, Jane Carter, originally confirmed the heartbreaking news to TMZ on Saturday, Dec. 23.

“I am in shock from learning of the sudden death of my daughter, Bobbie Jean; and I will need time to process the terrible reality of this happening for the third time,” she said in a statement.

“When I am able to think clearly, I’ll release a fuller statement; but until then I would request to be left to grieve in private.”

“[H]owever deeply a parent feels the loss of a child, the suffering of a young child at the loss of a parent must be much greater,” she humbly added.

“So, I would ask the sympathetic to say a prayer for my precious eight year old granddaughter Bella, who previously lost her father and is now also left without her mother.”

She was 41 years old.

Angel Carter paid tribute to her sister on Instagram last month, saying that life “wasn’t fair” to Bobbie Jean.

“Experiencing innocence instead of being burdened by trauma, pain, and suffering is incredibly important for children, particularly at such a young age,” Angel, 36, wrote at the time.

“I know why Leslie, Aaron, and now you ended up in the circumstances that you did. I share that pain we experienced during our childhood and I’m sorry you didn’t have an opportunity for a better life.”

Bobbie Jean mostly lived her life out of the public eye but was featured on her family’s 2006 reality show, “House of Carters.”

She made headlines in June after she was arrested for shoplifting from a Hobby Lobby in Florida.

She was also found to be in possession of fentanyl.

Bobbie Jean’s passing also comes just over a year after the shocking death of Aaron, who died in his bathtub at his California residence from drowning and the effects of difluoroethane, a flammable gas found in cans of compressed air, and a generic form of Xanax called alprazolam.

Sadly, Aaron and Bobbie Jean are the second and third of the Carter siblings, respectively, to die at an early age.

Some of the “I Want Candy” singer’s ashes were spread with Leslie’s in the Florida Keys following his death.

Nick and Aaron’s twin, Angel, are the only remaining Carter siblings alive.
