June “Mama June” Shannon gets emotional over daughter Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell’s cancer diagnosis in the new trailer for WeTV’s “Mama June: Family Crisis.”
“I can’t say if my daughter’s going to be here in five years ‘cause I don’t know,” the reality TV matriarch, 44, says through tears in the clip, released Friday via Entertainment Tonight.
In another moment, Cardwell’s sister Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird acknowledges that her health battle “hit [their family] harder” than they could have anticipated.
“The doctor straight up told her, ‘You need to get your affairs in order,’” Lauryn, 23, tells her husband, Joshua Efird, in the preview, explaining how dire the situation has become.
The sneak peek also shows Cardwell preparing for her secret March 2023 wedding to Eldridge Toney, which occurred during the throes of her chemotherapy treatments after being diagnosed with Stage 4 adrenal carcinoma that January.

“We were shocked she wanted a wedding so quickly,” Lauryn says of what she considered to be rushed nuptials.
Cardwell lost her life to the disease at age 29 on Dec. 9, 2023.
“With the breaking heart, we are announcing that @annamarie35 is no longer with us. She passed away in my home last night peacefully at 11:12 PM,” her mother, Shannon shared on Instagram at the time.
“She gave one hell of a fight for 10 months she passed away with her family around her. We will will be updating y’all with more information as we get it today. We love y’all and continued prayers and thoughts for our family [during] this difficult time.”
Shannon — who revealed in July that Cardwell’s cancer was terminal — recently won temporary custody of her late daughter’s 11-year-old child, Kaitlyn, over Cardwell’s ex-husband, Michael Cardwell.
In her filing, Shannon stated that Kaitlyn “does not have a legal father,” further claiming that the identity of the pre-teen’s dad is “unknown.”
Michael is not the biological father of Kaitlyn, Anna’s daughter from a previous relationship. However, he shared 8-year-old daughter Kylee with her and maintains that Anna “fostered and supported” his bond with Kaitlyn.
