Macy Gray disputed her daughter Aanisah Hinds’ claim that the “I Try” singer’s son, Tracy Melvin Hinds, struck her while drunk.
“Me and my son love each other, and he would never think of causing me any physical harm,” Gray told People via her rep Tuesday.
“Outside of that, like any family, we have our issues and we’re dealing with it.”
Page Six also reached out to the Grammy winner’s reps, but they declined to comment further.
Gray’s remarks contradict Aanisah’s assertion in a court filing previously obtained by Page Six that her mother would back up her allegations about her brother.
The 29-year-old wrote in a temporary restraining order request that the “Sweet Baby” singer wants Tracy, 28, “gone” and “will confirm” that he allegedly had been abusive.
Aanisah also detailed an argument that took place between the family members last Saturday that she claimed turned physical at one point, causing police to get involved.
“Tracy got into a physical altercation with my mom,” the graphic designer alleged in the filing.
“He followed her and harassed her as he always does when he drinks.”
Aanisah claimed her partner, Cornel Pearson, who is referenced as her fiancé in the docs, tried to intervene, but Tracy then “fought” him.
“We waited for the cops to come while he continued to bang on the doors of our rooms looking for confrontation,” she further claimed.

Aanisah pointed out in the filing that this has not been an isolated incident, claiming her younger brother reacts in a similar way “every time he drinks, normally monthly.”
She added that she and Pearson are expecting their first child together in September and, as a result, sought a restraining order for her, her child’s father and her famous mother.
The Los Angeles Superior Court temporarily granted Aanisah’s restraining order request, but a Feb. 27 hearing will determine whether the order will remain active.
In addition to Aanisah and Tracy, Gray, whose real name is Natalie McIntyre, shares daughter Happy Hinds, 27, with her ex-husband, Tracy Hinds, to whom she was married from 1996 to 1998.
