Kate Middleton ‘shivers’ when she hears Meghan Markle’s name: explosive new book

Kate Middleton “jokingly shivers” when she hears Meghan Markle’s name mentioned, a new book claims.

The Princess of Wales is also described as “cold” in controversial reporter Omid Scobie’s latest missive on the royal family, “Endgame,” as the writer says there has been “almost zero direct communication, bar a few short pleasantries, between the pair since late 2019.”

This means they did not really talk even before the Duke and Duchess Sussex officially quit Britain in 2020 in the dramatic “Megxit” split.

If Prince Harry and his wife are keen to reconcile with the royal family, then this book will surely not help matters, a palace source told Page Six, adding: “Harry and Meghan are meant to be on their reconciliation tour.”

Scobie alleges that for Middleton, 41, however, there is “no going back” in the breakdown of her relationship with Harry and Markle.

In July 2018, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle say beside each other in the Royal box at Wimbledon, seen as a sign of their close relationship. But the new book says that within a year they were barely speaking.

“She was close to Harry, and she will always look back fondly on those moments… and the relationship he had with their children… but to her there is no way she could ever trust them after all their interviews,” a source who knows the family claims in the book.

Scobie has long been thought to be an ally of the Sussexes and reveals how Markle called him on his cell phone out of the blue when he was being harassed online back in 2019.

In one chapter, he goes into the making of a princess — and even alleges that Middleton has had elocution lessons in a bid to become more like the late Queen Elizabeth.

The two brothers’ wives’ relationship had appeared positive at a service in Westminster Abbey in 2018, to mark the 100th anniversary of the end of World War One.

“Kate has learned what is paramount for survival in the system: vanishing into your role, giving away nothing, and allowing yourself to embody what the public sees in you.

And with those elocution lessons, the Princess of Wales even sounds a bit like her former boss: polished, regal, and appropriately distant.”

Scobie adds that while Middleton and Markle were caught up in the fallout of Prince William and Harry’s disintegrating relationship and could have bonded as palace outsiders, Middleton did nothing to support the former “Suits” actress when she joined the royal family.

This is the last time the once-Fab Four were together, after Queen Elizabeth died in September 2022. Their split was evident then and has worsened since, according to the new book by controversial author Omid Scobie.

There is the still-hotly contested story over who made whom cry over Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress for Harry and Markle’s 2018 wedding.

Reports in the UK said Markle made Middleton cry, Markle then told Oprah Winfrey it was the other way around.

Scobie cites someone who has worked with Middleton as saying: “She can be cold if she doesn’t like someone,” adding that she was “never a fan” of Markle.

This portrait was taken five years ago to mark then-Prince Charles’ 70th birthday, showing him and his three grandchildren. But his five grandchildren have never been together.

“She spent more time talking about Meghan than talking to her,” he quotes the source.

As has been previously reported in the Times of London, Middleton was the one was the one to insist on the now-famous “recollections may vary” line in a royal statement after the Sussexes alleged racism within the family on their Winfrey interview.

Controversial author Omid Scobie is seen as having exceptionally close ties to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s camp and has pushed versions of what happened which are friendly to them and scornful of the royal family in the past.

The new book from Omid Scobie is likely to prove as controversial as his first, “Finding Freedom.”

“Endgame” comes out on Tuesday, but sources who know the Sussexs were keen to stress that they had nothing to do with the book — which is Scobie’s follow-up to his tome, “Finding Freedom” about their departure from royal life and “Megxit”.

“Any speculation that this is a Sussex book is insane,” one source told Page Six.

Page Six has reached out to reps for Prince William and Middleton, as well as Prince Harry and Markle.
