Jennifer Garner dishes on why she hasn’t been back to ‘scary’ Met Gala since 2007

No more Met Galas for Jennifer Garner.

The actress explained in Vogue’s “Beauty Secrets” series why she has only attended the annual event “exactly one time” in 2007.

“I found it a little scary, so I haven’t been back,” the “13 Going on 30” star admitted while applying makeup in the candid video Monday.

However, she clarified that had a great experience at the “Poiret: King of Fashion”-themed evening in a “magical red Valentino gown” as the designer’s date.

“That was really, like, majestic and special,” Garner, 51, recalled.

Garner isn’t the only celeb who has sworn off the annual Anna Wintour-helmed event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art; Gwyneth Paltrow, Demi Lovato, Amy Schumer and more have all said the A-list event “sucked” in various ways.

The Golden Globe winner previously reflected on the night out in a 2018 Instagram post highlighting her strapless, floor-length dress and up-do.

“You will never appreciate using the bathroom alone until you’ve been sewn into a dress,” Garner captioned the throwback red carpet photo.

“#TrueFriendsHelpYouPee,” she concluded, tagging producer Nicole King Solaka in the social media upload.

While the “Alias” alum did not look back on other standout looks during Monday’s video, she gave viewers a glimpse of her “quick as possible” beauty routine.

Garner made it clear that she “always” applies sunscreen, noting that she didn’t in her younger years and is paying the price.

“Nothing looks better in your fifties than sunscreen in your twenties, ladies,” she advised. “You heard it here first.”

Elsewhere in the footage, she said she has passed the practice down to her and ex-husband Ben Affleck’s three children — Violet, 18, Seraphina, 14, and Samuel, 11.

“All I care about my kids doing is that they wash their face at night and that they wear SPF,” she said. “Other than that, it’s their business.”

The rest of the video included appearances from her “favorite” product, Westman Atelier’s Vital Skin Foundation Stick ($68), go-to Neutrogena products, of which she is an ambassador — and her single “indulgence,” Hermès Rouge Matte Lipstick ($75).

“Don’t tell my mom,” she quipped of the latter.
