Jason Sudeikis swapped his red-carpet hoodies for sneakers.
The “Ted Lasso” star, who rarely attends red carpet events, attended the 2024 Golden Globes in a brown velvet suit, purple sweater and pink Nike sneakers — and many fans were less than impressed by the look.
“is Jason Sudeikis really in a t shirt and sneakers?!” one person tweeted.
“Jason Sudeikis is Jack Nicholson in ‘As Good as it Gets’ when he rocks up to the restaurant but it’s policy to wear a dinner jacket so he has to borrow one from their own wee collection,” another joked.
“jason sudeikis was literally at the supermarket and went to the golden globes on the way,” a third theorized.
“Love that Jason Sudeikis showed up looking like a 9th Grade English teacher #GoldenGlobes,” a fourth added.
Meanwhile, others joked that the outfit choice was clear indication that the 48-year-old actor — who split from Olivia Wilde in 2020 — is still on the market.
“Well folks, I think it’s safe to say that Jason Sudeikis is definitely single, because no woman would let him go to the Golden Globes dressed like that.”

However, other people — especially sneaker heads — were fans of Sudeikis’ colorful look.
“Jason Sudeikis, best male shoes of the night,” someone else wrote alongside a close-up photo of the actor’s pink-and-orange kicks.
“jason sudeikis wearing Sabrina 1’s on the golden globe red carpet,” a second person tweeted alongside a goat emoji.
“jason sudeikis dressed as just a guy,” a third joked. “unfortunately still sexy.”
Despite briefly chatting with Variety, the actor did not do the step and repeat and instead slipped inside the venue without posing for photos.
Sudeikis, who has the chance to win his third Globe on Sunday, has never been one to take his award show looks very seriously.
During the virtual ceremony at the February 2021 Globes, the “Horrible Bosses” actor made headlines for wearing a pastel hoodie while accepting his Best Actor award for “Ted Lasso.”
Although many fans suggested that the actor, whose eyes appeared a bit red, must have been under the influence at the time, he later told GQ that he was “neither high nor heartbroken” at the time.
Sudeikis insisted that he simply thought it would feel “weird as s—t” to wear the top half of a suit while sitting in his living room.
“I wore that hoodie because I didn’t wanna f—king wear the f—king top half of a Tom Ford suit,” he said, noting that he was filming a project in London at the time and it was actually the middle of the night for him.
“It was like, ‘This is how I feel. I believe in moving forward,’” he explained.
The actor wore another hoodie to the Critics’ Choice Awards just a few weeks later.
