Drew Barrymore was tricked by suitor who lied about being an NFL player on a dating app: ‘I hate you!’

Drew Barrymore has had her fair share of dating app drama.

During Friday’s episode of “The Drew Barrymore Show,” the actress vented about recently getting tricked by a man on a dating app who claimed he was someone he wasn’t.

“This guy on my dating app said he was the quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams,” she told her co-host, Ross Mathews.

“So, I wrote to him and I was like, ‘Oh my God, I went to the first practice game.’”

“He was not the quarterback for the LA Rams — he’s a musician that thought he was being cute,” she revealed.

“How should I feel about this?”

The mystery man seemingly lost any chance he had left to date the “Never Been Kissed” star after giving her a pet name.

“The guy was like, ‘Hey, Drewski,’ and I was like, ‘I hate you … You pithy, deceiving, playful — you’ve made me feel stupid,’” she complained.

“‘I don’t know who you are. I feel so dumb. Why did we have to get off on this foot? I hate you!’”

Barrymore’s surprising interaction didn’t phase her too much, though, as she has never been a fan of dating apps.

“Every time I get on there it does not feel great. I always last five days,” she vented on her show.

Barrymore, 48, has been open about her dating ups and downs over the years following her 2016 divorce from art consultant Will Kopelman.

In 2020, she even admitted she had been ghosted by “a lot of people.”

Barrymore has been back and forth about her desire to date over the years.
However, she revealed last fall that she had been seeing someone on and off for three years. drewbarrymore/Instagram

In December 2022, the mom of two confirmed she was back in the dating game because she was “too good at being alone.”

However, about six months later, she admitted she was “tired and exhausted” from trying to find a romantic connection during an interview with Vulture.

In yet another twist to her story, Barrymore revealed she had been seeing someone off and on for three years last October.

“I invited him to a wedding next weekend,” she recalled during an episode of her talk show.

“And he said, ‘Wow, after three and a half years you are going to invite me to a wedding?’”

Aside from Kopelman, with whom the Golden Globe winner shares two daughters, she was married to comedian Tom Green from 2001 to 2002 and bar owner Jeremy Thomas from 1994 to 1995.
