Cher’s son Elijah Blue Allman is objecting to his mother’s conservatorship request, insisting that he’s “clean and sober.”
The 47-year-old musician filed his response to the music icon’s petition Thursday in Los Angeles, stating in court documents obtained by Page Six that “a conservatorship of the estate is not necessary at this time, no reason exists for the appointment of a conservator, the proposed conservator is not entitled to priority, and proposed conservator is unfit to serve.”
Allman admitted he has “struggled with addiction and spent money in ways that have not always been the most responsible” but insisted that he’s under the care of a doctor and is “attending AA meetings.”
“I recently passed a drug test and am willing to submit to future drug tests,” he claimed.
“I am clean and sober from illicit substances for over 90 days now and am fully capable of and committed to managing the money I receive quarterly from the trust left by my late father,” the vocalist added, referencing Gregg Allman, to whom Cher, 77, was once married.
Elijah also noted that he recently filed to dismiss his divorce from his estranged wife, Marieangela King, explaining that the two are “reconciling” and working on their relationship now that he has “found a path to sobriety.”
“I believe that my wife would have priority to be appointed conservator, if necessary, but I do not need that, either,” he added, going on to say that he is not “comfortable having [his] mom as [his] conservator.”
Elijah elaborated, “While I understand that my mother, the proposed conservator, believes she is looking out for my best interests and I appreciate her love and support, I do not need her unsolicited help or support at this time.
“Should I need it, I know my mother will continue to provide love and support to me — as she always has.”
Moreover, Elijah objected to Cher’s ex parte application, in which she argued that there was an urgent need for her to be appointed temporary conservator of his estate and claimed her son was missing.
He told the court he has been staying with King, 36, and that he was in Mexico “for approximately two months” prior to that.
“My mother was — at the time that the petition was filed — aware that I was in Mexico prior to December 15, 2023,” the guitarist claimed.
Elijah admitted that he did receive an email last Sunday regarding the singer’s request but did not “recognize the sender’s address,” so he “did not review the documents or appreciate their nature when they were received.”

Therefore, he argued that he has not had sufficient time to “review” Cher’s petition and “prepare an appropriate defense.”

Cher, for her part, believes her son is unable to “manage his finances” because of his “severe mental health and substance abuse issues,” per court documents previously obtained by Page Six.
In November 2022, the “Believe” songstress was accused of “kidnapping” Elijah from a New York City hotel room in a desperate attempt to get him to rehab following an alleged relapse.
Cher — who is also mom to son Chaz Bono, 54, whom she shares with her late first husband, Sonny Bono — has denied the allegations, telling People in October 2023, “That rumor is not true.”
