We’re not sure if this new hair color will stick around, ’round, ’round, ’round — but we sure wish it would.
Beyoncé, 42, showed off a few brand new and very vibrant hairstyles in a teaser for her forthcoming cover photoshoot with CR Fashion Book.
While the print magazine isn’t set to hit newsstands until March 29 and is currently only available for pre-order, CR Fashion Book did tease a few photos and quotes from the Cécred haircare founder on its Instagram.
Posing for the publication’s Issue 24 — which is titled “Audacious” and will feature a nine different cover stars, including Queen Bey — the “Texas Hold ‘Em” singer debuted a black-and-white mullet as well as long red curls, which were quite the contrast to her recent platinum blond strands.
In the shot of the black and gray mullet, the superstar wears a black corset over a T-shirt spray-painted with lyrics for her hit song “Heated,” including “She looks a mess” on the back.
“I always wanted an asymmetrical cut in the ’90s, but my mother wouldn’t let me do it. So I’m having the time of my life at this shoot,” Beyoncé told the magazine of her rock ‘n’ roll hairstyle.
She continued, “Hair is actually the first step when I’m creating tours, films, and albums; being able to see the hairstyles first is what influences the sound, looks…everything.”
Fans were quick to pick up on potential Easter eggs, commenting, “This is her rock and roll era for Act 3…channeling her legend- Tina Turner” and “Act III is definitely a rock n roll album! This confirms it all.”
In another shot, she pairs her curly red hair with a form-fitting, off-the-shoulder top, a beige pair of briefs, sheer socks, and pointed toe heels, fans immediately flooded the comments section to share their thoughts.
“That’s SHARON!!!!!” one person wrote, referencing Bey’s movie “Obsessed,” in which she sports a similar fiery hairstyle.
Others seemed to agree, posting GIFs of the character and quoting one of her famous lines from the 2009 film, “You think you’re crazy? I’ll show you crazy.”
CR Fashion Book also shared a few more shots, including one in which Beyoncé wore a full denim outfit and had blond micro bangs.
These stunning transformations make a lot of sense — for the interview portion, the music icon is opening up about her new haircare line, Cécred, which is available to shop now, and sharing more on why she launched it.
“As long as I can remember, I’ve been around hair,” Beyoncé said, according to CR Fashion Book’s caption.
“It has always been a dream of mine to create top-of-the-line, luxury products,” she added. “I wanted to combine the best scientific advancements with true rituals from different heritages.”
While we may have to wait a month to get the full scoop and see the stunning shoot in full, the release date does make sense: March 29 is also the same day Beyoncé’s new country album, act two of her “Renaissance” album, is set to drop.
Will she be celebrating this new era with red strands? Keep the blonde? Go with something else and continue to switch it up?
It seems like the Beyhive will just have to wait and see.
