Alyson Hannigan lost 20 pounds of ‘both weight and emotional baggage’ on ‘DWTS’

Season 32 of “Dancing With the Stars” offered Alyson Hannigan both physical and mental transformations.

The actress — who finished in fifth place on the hit ABC show with her professional dance partner Sasha Farber — took to Instagram Saturday to reflect on the life-changing process.

Alongside a side-by-side photo from her original “DWTS” promo shot and a snap from last week’s finale, she wrote, “The before and after says it all. I lost 20 pounds of both weight and emotional baggage during my time on @dancingwiththestars.”

“I can’t thank @sashafarber1 enough for helping me shed my insecurities and getting me to the confident and strong place I am today!”

Farber, 39, was clearly touched by the note, writing, “🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹😂❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ miss you,” in response.

He also shared the comparison picture to his own feed to express his excitement for his dance partner.

“I wanted to post this picture and celebrate, how proud and hard working my partner was during the season!!!!” he wrote, seemingly thrilled.

The “How I Met Your Mother” alum, 49, was applauded by several of her former “DWTS” competitors as well.

“Incredible!!!!! Congrats on such a good season,” Alan Bertsen, who was sent home during the second week of the competition with his partner, Jamie Lynn Spears, commented on the actress’ post.

Val Chmerkovskiy, who won the season with actress Xochitl Gomez, sent Hannigan a red heart emoji, while Harry Jowsey — who is rumored to be dating his former dance partner Rylee Arnold — added some clapping emojis in the comments section.

Hannigan’s post came one day after she raved about her experience on the dance competition show via a lengthy Instagram post.

“Where do I even begin? I really don’t have enough words in my vocabulary to express my gratitude for this experience,” she penned in a caption that accompanied a compilation of videos from her time on the series.

“To go into this journey with mostly fear, and come out how I feel now is indescribable I cannot thank @sashafarber1 enough for everything he gave me, shared with me and experienced with me.

“I couldn’t have asked for a better partner. Thank you for not giving up on me. Thank you for giving me confidence and making me feel like I could do this and then getting me there and having so much fun along the way.”

Hannigan continued, “I am so glad that you came into my life and you’re not gonna get rid of me now.”

She also thanked the cast, crew and wardrobe department for their “amazing job” at bringing the show to life every week and finished by congratulating Gomez, 17, and Chmerkovskiy, 37, for their win.

Hannigan previously told Page Six exclusively that she applied some helpful advice from Season 31 alum Selma Blair to her time on “DWTS.”

“Definitely to breathe, and just to kind of leave the weight of the world outside. Just to be present,” she explained.

“She was wonderful. She’s the reason I wanted Sasha [as my partner] so bad.”

Blair, 51, and Farber removed themselves from the competition last year out of concern for the actress’ complications related to her multiple sclerosis (MS).
